Congratulations to our Champions!!!

Congratulations to Kerrigan Brennan, Emily Sell, Emma McGill, Lauren Wagner and Sophia El-Zahr for making it to the Meet of Champions on Saturday at Northern Burlington Regional High School in Columbus, NJ. The girls really put up a fight and should be proud of their efforts! The entire Voorhees community certainly is! 

Lauren and Emma finished in 5th and 7th place respectively, barely a second apart, with times of 4:59.27 and 5:00.38. Wow, what a finish! 

Lauren also ran in the 800m final, finishing in 11th place in 2:17.27.

Emma joined her 800m relay teammates  Kerrigan, Sophia and Emily in that final, finishing in 13th place with a time 9:35.29. 

Great job ladies! An awesome finish to a great season! Good luck to Lauren next fall at American University! And we will look forward  to seeing Emma, Emily, Kerrigan and Sophia running XC in the fall!


A Great Day for Vikings at the Skyland Relays!


It was great day to be a Viking at the Skyland Conference Relays on Saturday at Hunterdon Central HS. Voorhees competed as part of the Small Valley Mountain Division.  

The Boys' and Girls' teams both had great results! 

The girls' DMR team of Lauren Wagner, Rebecca Garison, Emily Sell and Emma McGill finished first overall at the meet with a lightning time of 12:19, 7 seconds ahead of Warren Hills and 34 seconds ahead of Montgomery. 

The girls discus team of Sydney Collins, Hailey Ader and Kacie Roll finished 2nd in the small school division and 3rd overall in the conference with a combined distance of 271'11", behind Pingry and Hillsborough, but ahead of Hunterdon Central, North Hunterdon and Ridge.

Both teams won the 1600m running relay in their small school division. The boys' team of Daniel McConnell, Dylan Fritz, Luke Higgins and Josh Kinsky winning combined time of 18:29 placed them 3rd overall at the meet behind North Hunterdon and Bridgewater-Raritan and ahead of Hillsborough. The girls'  team of Sophia El-Zahr, Grace Pankuck, Julia Romero and Kate Sell had a winning time of 23:12 which earned them 6th place overall, ahead of 7th place North Hunterdon.

Kevin Sommer earned 2nd place overall at the meet in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.48.

The girls' javelin team of  Kacie Roll, Madison Riley and Jenn Fournell  won the small school division and finished 3rd in the conference with a combined distance of 251'8".

The girls' shot put team of Sydney Collins, Trinity Tullo-McVicar and Hailey Ader finished third in their division and 5th overall with a combined distance of 82'5".

The girls' 1600m SMR team of Lauren Wagner,  Emma McGill , Toni Brezina and Rachel Rosales finished 2nd in their division and 3rd overall in the conference with a time of 4:16, four seconds behind Ridge and 1 second behind Warren Hills.

Both teams won the small school 800m relay. The boys team of Daniel McConnell, Kevin Sommer, Dylan Fritz and Luke Higgins had a time of 8:35, which placed them 6th overall in the conference. The girls' team of Emily Sell, Zoey Cassavell, Kerrigan Brennan and Lindsay Kinsky had a time of 10:28, placing them 7th overall in the conference.

The girls 4x400 Relay Novice team of Casey Zemanek, Kerrigan Brennan, Sonia Marran and Lindsay Kinsky finished 4th overall in the conference with a time of 4:39.

The girls' varsity 4x400 team of Lauren Wagner,  Sophia El-Zahr, Emily Sell, and Toni Brezina finished 3rd overall in the small school division with a time of 4:22.

Kaylee Crisitello finished 3rd overall in the small school high jump at 4'10".

The boys' pole vault team of Henry Freligh and Joe Avallone finished 3rd overall in the small school division.

In the team competition, the girls finished 3rd and the boys 6th overall in the small school division.

Wow, great job everyone!! It WAS a great day to be a Vike!!


Boys and Girls spring T&F have strong opening meets!


The boys' and girls' teams opened their spring season this week with great showings.  The boys team began their season at the Opening Night Relays at Hillsborough H.S. on Wednesday.  The 4x800m team of Daniel McConnell,  Kevin Sommer, Dylan Fritz and Luke Higgins took third place with a time of  8:31.  Great job boys!!

The girls' team started the season strong at the Metuchen Relays on Saturday! Here are the top finishers:

McGill and Wagner finish strong at the Meet of Champions!


Our Viking runners ran strong this weekend at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions at the Bubble in Toms River. Emma McGill and Lauren Wagner competed in the 1600m, while Kevin Sommer represented Voorhees in the 55m hurdles. Emma finished 3rd overall in the state, with a time of 5:03 and Lauren Wagner finished 5th, with a time of 5:07. Awesome job ladies! Kevin Sommer finished 20th overall, with  a time of 7.93. Way to go Kevin!

We are so proud of you all!


Girls DMR takes 6th place at Eastern States!


Congratulations to the girls DMR team of Emma McGill, Rachel Rosales, Emily Sell and Lauren Wagner for taking 6th place overall at the Eastern States Indoor Championships at the New York Armory last night! With a time of 12:21, they finished  only 1 second behind Niskayuna and 3 seconds ahead of River Dell. 

Great job ladies!!!

McGill, Wagner and Sommer qualify for MOC at the Group 2 Championships!!


Our Viking Track & Field team had three athletes qualify today at the Group 2 Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Bubble in Toms River for next weekend's Meet of Champions. Emma McGill and Lauren Wagner finished in 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the 1600m and Kevin Sommer placed 3rd in the 55m hurdles. Great job and good luck next weekend!

Our Lady Vikings take 2nd at the Bubble!!!


Congratulations to the girls DMR team of Emma McGill, Rachel Rosales, Emily Sell and Lauren Wagner for taking 2nd place overall at the Group 2 Relay Championships at the Bubble in Toms River on Friday!! With a time of 12:41, they finished 7 seconds behind Rumson-Fair Haven and 2 seconds ahead of Monmouth Regional. Awesome job ladies!!!
